David Conn was the 2004 Sport and News Reporter of the Year - awarded for his weekly columns, "Inside Football" in the Independent. He now writes a much-admired weekly column investigating football, and other sports, for The Guardian.

He is the author of two best-selling and well reviewed books: The Football Business (1997) and The Beautiful Game? Searching for the Soul of Football (2004).

David's work is not restricted to investigative journalism; he also writes features, interviews and columns. He has ghost-written two successful sports autobiographies, those of Colin Jackson (2003) and Lee Sharpe (2005).

The books were particularly recognised for having their subjects speak in depth about themselves and their sporting careers.

David regularly appears on radio and television to discuss sporting issues, speaks at conferences and
gives university lectures.
